SYDNEY 29 May, 2008 Thanks to a combination of innovative technologies, the new Leo projector series from Mitsubishi Electric sets a new benchmark in colour accuracy and reproduction.
The Leo series includes three new projectors, the XD500U, XD510U, and the XD520U. Each model features the latest 6-segment colour wheel design developed to enhance the colour spectrum by adding yellow and cyan segments to the standard red, green, blue and white segments.
The projectors automatically adjust themselves to optimise brightness and colour in the users actual environment by using colour algorithms. Moreover, the brightness of the three projectors means that they can be used in ambient light. The XD500U has a brightness of 2200lm, the XD510U is 2600lm and the XD520U is 3000lm. The 2000:1 contrast ratio guarantees excellent black level reproduction.
By combining BrilliantColorTM and lamp power modulation technology, the Leo series act intelligently to boost colours that are prone to being darker or less saturated. This improves the overall intensity and vibrancy of the entire displayed image. For instance, where there is a need to project vivid images in an already bright screen image, the lamp is programmed to provide brighter colours. In contrast, when the objective of the display is to deliver an image with emphasis on genuine colour reproduction, the algorithm will deliver just the right colours with the appropriate radiance.
"The Leo series projectors render images in new standards of colour richness, accuracy and quality. Together with long-life performance, these projectors set new benchmarks for portable projectors in Australia," said Thomas Seeto, Director, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.
Other features of the projectors include a long-life lamp of up to 4,000 hours in the XD510U, a low noise operation level of 26dBA in the XD500U, filter free designs for less maintenance, time-saving instant shutdown for presentations on the move and newly designed casing with centred lens for easier installation and setup.
