Windows 2000 Scanner Patch

This patch resolves a problem under windows 2000 whereby users without administrative privileges recieve an error "read image data failure" when attempting a scan. You must be logged on with administrator privileges to install this patch.

DV 1248ST Windows XP Driver Installation

If a previous version of Diamond View drivers are installed, remove them via the "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows Control Panel.

1. Run C:\Drivers\disk1\setup.exe to begin the V3.43 scanner driver installation.

2. Check the SCSI Model in the Selected Scanner Model dialogue box, then all the default settings for the rest of the dialogue boxes.

3. Once the driver installation is complete shutdown the computer, connect the DV 1248ST scanner and power it on then restartup the computer.

4. As Windows XP starts-up it will report finding a new SCSI controller and the Hardware Wizard will launch, select all the default options to install the SCSI controller.

5. Windows XP will report the drivers are not digitally signed, click on Continue Anyway to complete the installation.

6. Windows XP will then report finding a new scanner device and the Hardware Wizard will launch, select all the default options to install the scanner.

7. Windows XP will report the drivers are not digitally signed, click on Continue Anyway to complete the installation.

8. Once the SCSI controller and Scanner drivers have been installed you must reboot the computer to use the scanner.
