Installation instructions for the Diamond View Scanner Driver, version 4.08
The Diamond View DV648U and DV648UT scanner driver version 4.08 is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, Me and XP. Please read the following instructions carefully and print them for reference before downloading and installing the version 4.08 drivers.
IMPORTANT: Before installing the Diamond View V4.08 Scanner driver software, please ensure that:

1. You disconnect your DV648U(T) USB cable from the computer.
2. Any previous version(s) of Diamond View scanner software have been removed (to remove previous version(s), click on the Start button, go to Programs, go to your Diamond View 3.xx folder and run the Uninstall program).

Once this has been done, run the Setup.exe program for Diamond View 4.08 and restart your computer. Once the computer has been restarted, reconnect the USB cable for the scanner and turn the scanner on. Windows will detect the scanner, allowing you to install the new driver.
Note: When installing the new driver under Windows 2000 and Windows XP, a window will appear stating that the driver software does not contain a digital signature or has not passed Windows logo testing. The Diamond View scanner driver, version 4.08 has been designed for and thoroughly tested with the Windows XP and 2000 operating systems and operates correctly. When this window does appear, just select Yes or Continue Anyway.

To install the drivers:
1. Click on the link below and save the file (DiamondView_408.exe) to a directory on your computer's hard disk drive.
2. Run DiamondView_408.exe to extract the files that it contains to a directory.
3. Open the directory that the extracted files were saved to and then run the setup file (setup.exe) to install the drivers.



Windows 2000 Scanner Patch
This patch resolves a problem under windows 2000 whereby users without administrative privileges recieve an error "read image data failure" when attempting a scan. You must be logged on with administrator privileges to install this patch.
